Premade Cover Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: September 10, 2026

By purchasing a premade book cover from InkVault Publishing, the purchaser (“Client”) acknowledges and agrees to the following terms and conditions.

1. Premade Cover Exclusivity

Each premade cover is sold only once. Once a premade cover has been purchased, it will be marked as sold or otherwise removed from availability and will not be sold by InkVault Publishing to another client.

Exclusivity applies to the completed premade cover design as a whole. It does not guarantee exclusivity of individual design elements, fonts, stock assets, visual concepts, poses, backgrounds, decorative elements, or other components that may also appear in other creative works.

For premade series, the complete series set purchased by the Client will be removed from availability upon purchase.

2. Premade Artwork Is Sold As Shown

Premade covers are purchased with the artwork and overall design shown in the listing.

The underlying artwork, imagery, characters, objects, backgrounds, composition, colors, and other visual elements of a premade cover cannot be changed or replaced after purchase.

Permitted customization is limited to text-based elements offered by InkVault Publishing, such as:

  • Book title

  • Subtitle

  • Author or pen name

  • Series title

  • Series number

  • Tagline or other short cover text, when appropriate for the existing design

Minor adjustments to typography, sizing, spacing, or placement may be made by InkVault Publishing as necessary to accommodate the Client's information while maintaining the integrity and readability of the original design.

Requests to alter the artwork or transform the premade into a substantially different design are not included in the purchase.

3. Personalization

After purchase, the Client will receive instructions for submitting the information required to personalize the cover.

The Client is responsible for providing complete and accurate information. InkVault Publishing is not responsible for errors contained in information submitted by the Client.

Initial ebook personalization must be requested within six (6) months of the original purchase date.

If the Client does not submit the required personalization information within six months, the included personalization service expires. The Client retains the rights granted under these terms to the purchased premade design, but future personalization may require an additional fee and will be subject to InkVault Publishing's current pricing and availability.

For premade series, personalization of the first cover must be requested within six (6) months of the original purchase date. Personalization of all remaining covers in the purchased series must be requested within twelve (12) months of the original purchase date. These service windows do not restart or extend when an individual cover within the series is personalized or delivered.

4. Print Wraps and Additional Formats

When print cover creation is included with or otherwise offered for a purchased premade, the Client has twelve (12) months from the original purchase date to request eligible print wraps.

This may include formats offered for the applicable cover package, such as paperback, hardcover, or large-print editions.

To create a print wrap, the Client must provide all required specifications and materials, which may include:

  • Final page count

  • Trim size

  • Paper type or color

  • Publishing platform or printer

  • Final back-cover copy

  • ISBN and/or barcode instructions

  • Publisher or imprint logo, if applicable

  • Any other specifications necessary to produce the requested file

The Client is responsible for ensuring that all information and specifications submitted are final and accurate.

The twelve-month service window begins on the original purchase date and does not restart when an ebook is personalized, a proof is approved, a later book in a series is completed, or another format is requested.

After twelve months, any unrequested print wraps, resizing, reformatting, or other design services are no longer included. Additional work may be purchased, when available, at InkVault Publishing's then-current rates.

Expiration of the service window does not revoke the Client's rights to files already delivered.

5. Series Premades

Unless otherwise stated in the individual listing, a premade series is treated as a single purchase for purposes of service deadlines.

Personalization of the first cover in the series must be requested within six (6) months of the original purchase date. Personalization of all remaining covers in the purchased series must be requested within twelve (12) months of the original purchase date.

Any eligible paperback, hardcover, large-print, or other print wraps must also be requested within twelve (12) months of the original purchase date.

These service windows begin on the date the series is originally purchased and do not restart or extend when an individual cover is personalized, approved, or delivered.

After the applicable service window expires, additional personalization or print-format work may be available at InkVault Publishing's then-current rates and availability.

The listing will identify the number of cover designs included in the purchased series.

6. Proofs and Revisions

InkVault Publishing may provide a proof of the personalized cover before final delivery.

Revisions to Client-supplied text, such as correcting a title, author name, subtitle, or other permitted text, may be requested during the personalization process subject to any revision limits stated in the applicable listing or service.

Revisions do not include changes to the underlying premade artwork or requests to redesign the cover.

Once final files have been approved and delivered, later changes resulting from information changed by the Client, including a new title, pen name, subtitle, blurb, page count, trim size, or publishing specification, may incur an additional fee.

InkVault Publishing may correct errors made by InkVault Publishing without charge.

7. Final File Delivery

Final files will be delivered digitally in the formats included with the purchased cover or service.

The Client is responsible for downloading and safely storing all delivered files. InkVault Publishing does not guarantee indefinite storage or replacement of previously delivered files.

Any promotional graphics, mockups, social media graphics, or other “goodies” included with a listing are supplementary materials and may be provided, but are not guaranteed for each purchase.

8. No Refunds

All premade cover sales are final and non-refundable.

Because a premade cover is removed from the marketplace and made unavailable to other customers upon purchase, refunds, exchanges, cancellations, or credits will not be provided after the transaction has been completed.

Clients are responsible for reviewing the cover design, listing details, included services, and these terms before purchasing.

Failure to submit personalization information within the applicable service window does not entitle the Client to a refund.

Failure to publish a book, cancellation of a publishing project, a title change, a pen-name change, or any other change in the Client's publishing plans does not entitle the Client to a refund.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

9. Client-Supplied Materials

The Client represents that they have the necessary rights or permission to use any materials they provide to InkVault Publishing, including logos, photographs, illustrations, blurbs, trademarks, or other content.

The Client is responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriate use of Client-supplied materials.

10. Licensing and Permitted Use

Upon full payment, the Client receives the right to use the completed premade cover for the book or series for which it was purchased, including applicable ebook, print, promotional, advertising, and marketing uses.

The Client may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, give away, or make the editable/source design files or individual design assets available to third parties as standalone products.

Purchase of a premade cover does not transfer ownership of InkVault Publishing's underlying working files, templates, source files, design methods, or separately licensed assets.

Unless expressly included in the purchased service, editable source files are not provided.

11. Third-Party Assets and Fonts

Premade covers may incorporate fonts, licensed assets, stock elements, generated or digitally created imagery, and other design resources.

Any third-party elements remain subject to their applicable licenses and are not transferred to the Client as independently owned assets.

The Client's exclusivity applies to the completed premade cover design, not to third-party assets individually.

12. AI-Assisted Design

InkVault Publishing may use artificial intelligence-assisted tools as part of its creative and editing workflow. AI-assisted elements may be edited, composited, retouched, manipulated, or otherwise incorporated into finished designs using programs such as Adobe Photoshop and other design software.

By purchasing a premade cover, the Client acknowledges that AI-assisted tools may have been used during the creation or editing process.

Publishing platforms may maintain their own rules regarding disclosure of AI-generated or AI-assisted content. Those policies may change over time. The Client is responsible for reviewing and complying with the current requirements of the platforms through which they choose to publish.

InkVault Publishing does not guarantee how a third-party publishing platform will classify a particular cover or what disclosures that platform may require.

13. Turnaround Times

Any turnaround times provided by InkVault Publishing are estimates unless expressly stated otherwise.

Turnaround begins after InkVault Publishing has received all information necessary to complete the requested service.

Delays caused by incomplete information, changed specifications, delayed Client responses, or circumstances outside InkVault Publishing's reasonable control may extend the delivery timeline.

14. Refusal of Out-of-Scope Requests

InkVault Publishing reserves the right to decline requests that fall outside the scope of the purchased premade service.

Purchasing a premade cover does not obligate InkVault Publishing to provide artwork alterations, redesigns, additional formats, additional promotional materials, or other services that were not included in the original purchase.

Additional services may be available separately at InkVault Publishing's current rates.

15. Portfolio and Promotional Use

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, InkVault Publishing may display completed premade designs in its portfolio, website, social media, advertisements, or other promotional materials, including after the cover has been sold.

A cover displayed as portfolio work will not be offered for resale after it has been purchased.

16. Changes to These Terms

InkVault Publishing may update these terms from time to time.

The terms applicable to a premade purchase are the terms in effect on the date of that purchase. Changes made after purchase will not retroactively reduce services or rights already included with that purchase unless required by law.

17. Acceptance of Terms

By completing a premade cover purchase and selecting the required acknowledgment at checkout, the Client confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Premade Cover Terms & Conditions.

The Client is encouraged to save a copy of these terms for their records.
